I am currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science from International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India (http://www.iiit.ac.in). My research focuses on exploring and understanding the impact of semantic information derived from pictures on user-navigation behavior. I am working on improving existing computational models of web-navigation using information from visual modality.
My supervisor is Prof. Bipin Indurkhya. I also collaborate with Prof. Herre van Oostendorp from Utrecht University, Netherlands.
I finished my BTech in 2007 also from IIIT-Hyderabad and joined the integrated PhD program. I am affiliated to Cognitive Science Lab, one of the research centers that focuses on issues related to Cognition and Human Behavior. I also did some work in the domain of Empirical Aesthetics focusing on the physical properties of a composition that affect its Visual Balance.
Broadly, my research interests include -
- Computational Modeling of Web-Navigation
- Human Computer Interaction
- Empirical Aesthetics
