I am a research scholar at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad, India. Currently, I am exploring the use of low-Earth-orbit satellites for connecting internet-of-things (IoT) networks with ubiquitous coverage. The work focuses on the physical layer aspects of satellite-based IoT networks, with a particular emphasis on topology design and performance analysis. I am also a junior research fellow at the Centre of Excellence in IoT at IIITH, where I participate in smart cities-related deployments and research activities. The aim of these activities is to set up IoT networks for monitoring air pollution and water flow in Indian urban scenarios.
Research Interests: Satellite-based IoT networks, LEO satellites, IoT-enabled smart-cities, 6G and beyond
Working on a Dept. of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India funded project titled 'IoT enabled smart cities: pollution, health and governance' under the guidance of principle investigator, Dr. Sachin Chaudhari.
Working with Dr. Sachin Chaudhari towards Ph.D. thesis titled Satellite communications for the Internet of Things: Topology design and performance analysis
at (SPCRC), (IIITH), India.
Teaching assistant with Prof. Sachin Chaudhari at IIITH for courses like Communication Theory (UG Core) and Communication and Controls in IoT (ECE elective). The roles and responsibilities included mentoring project teams, planning and grading quizzes, and conducting tutorial sessions
Studied the design of various antennas used for satellite communication as a graduate intern at Antenna Products and Satcom Division (AP&SD) of Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad, India. ECIL is a Govt. of India (Department of Atomic Energy) enterprise.
Traffic-aware transmission and scheduling schemes are being designed using a real dataset from a smart-city testbed for an LEO satellite-based NB-IoT network. The work focuses on enhancing the network’s capacity and energy efficiency by using change detection and machine learning-based scheduling schemes in time-constrained visibility passes of LEO satellites.
The work focuses on the physical (PHY) layer aspects of LEO satellite-based IoT networks, investigating the potential use of a star-of-star topology. The satellite constellation and the IoT deployment are modelled using stochastic geometry, and an end-to-end performance analysis is carried out in terms of outage probability for various decoding algorithms.
Operationalizing two research projects on air pollution monitoring (AirIoT) and water flow monitoring (WaterIoT) with an aim to develop and deploy an IoT network for monitoring air pollution and water flow in Indian metropolitan cities. It also includes developing a web-based spatial data platform for dynamic geo-visualization of the data to provide citizen advisory and governance inputs.

My area of interest for research is next generation wireless communication. It research is concentrated on the use-cases of satellites in next-generation wireless communication with a specific focus on IoT. The scope of my research is mainly related to LEO satellite-based eMTC/IoT networks. The aim is to develop an understanding and potential solutions to the various research challenges on the front of topology, performance, resource allocation, and access schemes.
Apart from being a researcher, I enjoy most of my time in literature, poetry, public speaking and gardening. I like reading books. I am greatly influenced by Ramcharitmanas, a masterpiece by Goswami Tulsidas. I am an award winnig public speaker at multiple stages. Maintaining my own grown plants is one of my favoutite pastime.
