About Me

Who Am I?

I am Pulkit Verma, a Master's Student at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India. I am working on Extending Running Time of a Loosely Coupled Payload Transport System through Robot Replacement. I am pursuing my research under the guidance of Professor Kamalakar Karlapalem at Agents and Applied Robotics Group (AARG) , Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems (KCIS).

Embedded Systems

Developed applications on STM32, MSP430, PSOC4(Cypress), Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone etc

Implemented various algorithms for making a group of robots to move in a rigid formation

Acquired knowledge on VLSI System design using CMOS and Front-end Flow using Verilog and VHDL

Indoor Localization

Enhanced Indoor Localization of robots using Ultra Wide Band Technology (accuracy < 6cms)

Machine Learning

Worked on capturing battery profile and replacing low battery robots with charged ones

Working on various aspects of Multi Robot Systems which include Payload Transport System, Obstacle Avoidance, Path planning and Tracking, etc.

Major Title: Extending Running Time of a Loosely Coupled Payload Transport System through Robot Replacement

Summary: A group of non-holonomic wheeled mobile robots traverses a known trajectory in formation. We proposed a novel concept which ensures that the multi-robot system lasts much longer than the battery life of an individual robot. A system level optimization is presented, to decide on the operational state (charging or discharging) of each robot in the system. The charging state implies that the robot is not in formation and is kept on charge whereas the discharging state implies that the robot is a part of formation. Robot battery recharge hubs are present along the trajectory. Robots in formation can be replaced at these hub locations with charged robots using a replacement mechanism.

Major Project: Power and Delay Minimization of an FIR filter using Vedic Algorithm

Summary: An FIR filter was designed to minimize the power and delay using Vedic Algorithm. A comparative study was displayed with the Booth Multiplier.
