Hi, I'm Sirnam Swetha!

I am Computer Science enthusiast pursuing B.Tech and MS by research in computer science at IIIT-Hyderabad. I'm passionate about computing, so I went on to major in computer science at IIIT-Hyderabad. Then I was attracted by Machine Learning/Computer Vision and currently doing research in computer vision/deep learning at IIIT-Hyderabad. Here, I'm associated with Centre for Visual Information Technology (CVIT) and advised by Dr. C.V. Jawahar and Dr. Vineeth N Balasubramanian .

Projects

Efficient Object Annotation for Surveillance and Automotive Applications

In this work, we propose an efficient and yet accurate annotation scheme for objects in videos (pedestrians in this case) with minimal supervision. We annotate objects with tight bounding boxes. We propagate the annotations across the frames with a self training based approach.

Online Handwriting Recognition using Depth Sensors

The work proposes n-HCI evolution which involves the natural way of handwriting by hand in the air. With ost of the depth sensors such as Kinect and Leap Motion, people can actually communicate with the machine by their air handwriting. These systems have been proved to be useful for teaching purposes, blind-deaf communication and it introduces sixth sense technologies in most of the commonly used devices.

Fashion Search and Apparel retrieval

A Cloth retrieval system: application for enhanced image search from a database of images taken from Myntra. User can upload a picture and we retrieve a set of similar clothes (in terms of colour, texture and style). Enabling user to search for similar images not just based on tags instead using images itself!

Asynchronous Video Lectures

A stand-alone application, aimed at viewing video lectures asynchronously and able to chat with other students. Creating a virtual classroom environment without video streaming. System has been tested and can be used for courses with capacity 100-150

Spam Email Filtering

To filter the spam emails using Visual features and text, and then classify the emails as spam/ham. Combining Visual features with text improves the results. (pdf)

Park: 3-D Game

Built a Single-Player 3-D Game in C++, with 3-D models, lighting and shading and audio effects (OpenGL). One of the levels in the game developed, mimics subway surfers.

C Shell

An implementation of the linux shell in C. Implemented in C using the concepts Operating System concepts. The shell processes basic commands, handles piping, background processes, foreground processes and input output redirections.
